Hi guys, i tried overclocking my Intel Core 2 Quad Extreme Q9300 processor. The stock speed is at 2.5ghz. The motherboard i'm using is an Asus P5K. I tried changing a few values but every time it would just shut down, when i restart it goes back to stock settings. I even tried raising the values by the smallest amount i could and it still shut off. It has a built feature called Asus AI NOS which i assume also overclocks since when i turn that on it shuts off too. Any advice and help guys? Or could i be overclocking it wrong?

Also, the Q9300 is not an "Extreme" model. The "Extreme" models have unlocked multipliers.

I must have the wrong number then coz it defiantly says extreme and the multipliers are unlocked. ill have another look to make sure.

Ok, i just checked CPU-Z and stuff and it says "Intel Core 2 Quad Q9300" so it isn't an Extreme model. My bad. But the overclocking settings are still there in my BIOS. Unless the settings are there but the processor won't let me change them.
