i'm not really sure but i think HD4650 will be better. if you shop at newegg maybe you can grab this with your budget:

I have the 4650 is is pretty good, U can also use ATI catalyst to overclock it by a few Mhz. Make sure you manually adjust the fan speed.

This 9600GSO is better than either http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6814121320

Here are some 4650 benchmarks that have both cards in. http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews [...] _OC/6.html

Just to add the 9600 GSO will need a 6 pin power connector and the 4650 wont. The 9400 isnt worth considering in my opinion.

Also make sure you know which type of GF9600GSO you get, there are 4 of them and 2 of them suck (can't remember the full configurations, but there's the 96 SPU w/ 128bit [good, and also the one Mactronix linked to] a 192bit one that's good, and then two others that suck.

the 4650 has only ddr2 memory and pretty low clocks. spend 20 bucks more and get a 4670. it has faster clocks and with one gig of gddr3 memory, it will give great frame rates at res. up to 1400x900. i have a 4650 and wish i got the 4670 with the gddr3 memory. learn from my mistake. get this instead.
