incorrect config error

I have been using Xp for more than a year with no problem
but now every time I open or close a program a small
error box occurs which says incoorect config.
can someone tell me how to fix this. The programs run
fine but it is annoying having to close this error box
every time.

Thanks for info but I have used Norton and Adware and it
has not fixed the problem. can you suggest anything in
particular?

One of my users has the same problem, also on Windows XP. The
computer has Symantec AV 8.1 with up-to-date definitions. I also
tried Adaware, this didn't find anything either.

Google shows a few people have had this problem this month, but no
answers so far. Did you have any success yet?
