APPROXIMATE PURCHASE DATE: Sometime in October BUDGET RANGE: 700ish Mail In Rebates are fine

SYSTEM USAGE FROM MOST TO LEAST IMPORTANT: Lightroom, Photoshop, no gaming

PARTS NOT REQUIRED: I need everything

PREFERRED WEBSITE(S) FOR PARTS: no preference COUNTRY OF ORIGIN: USA

PARTS PREFERENCES: i5 or i7, 6GB.

OVERCLOCKING: Maybe but probably not SLI OR CROSSFIRE: No

MONITOR RESOLUTION: 1920x1080 or 1920x1200 depending on price

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: I am looking to build a new home computer, it will mainly be used for image editing and typical surfing, emailing, etc. I don't think I need a beefy video card because I do not anticipate gaming on this, Lightroom doesn't use GPU acceleration, Photoshop does, but I mainly use Lightroom. I think I'd like to have 2 internal hard drives for backup of documents, pictures, and music (no videos.) I do currently have an old WD 500GB external I use for manual backups, but I think 2 internal set to automatic backup would be more convenient (any tips on this would be welcome.) At this time I can't see a reason for me to pay the extra $100 to update from i5 to i7 since my apps don't benefit from hyper-threading, but if I'm wrong on this point please correct me.

Thanks in advance for the help.

Thanks for the tips. I actually will be getting a copy of Windows 7, from the Windows 7 launch party, so yay for saving some $!
