Hi, I'm wondering if I would be able to run an XFX 5870 on a 500 watt PSU. It says minimum of 500, but, that's just the bare minimum, so I'm not too sure.

it depends on your PSU. If its good quality one, you shouldn't have any problems.

5870 draws MAX around 200W so you are good. May be you should worry only if you have something like PhII x4 965 OC to 4GHz + 4 HDD + 10 usb devices + 4 slots of ram + standalone Sound card + TvTuner card + some other things :)

Thanks for the reply! Yeah, I'm only running an AMD 6000+ OC to 3.6Ghz, and two 8800gt's right now. Only one HDD, and just 4 gigs of ram =). SO, I shouldn't be using TOO much power, lol.
