Which service & how are you determining it is hung ?
If services.msd says it is started, it is started.

Its and windows service and in control panel shows as statred. But I can get the response only when restared. So I am expecting this to be hang/pause etc state rather than started.

So i would like to know the exact status of the service.
I ahve tried SC.exe , tried with ServiceController() in c#. Nothing gives the exact status of an service. Please help me I am really in need toi know this as my productivity is going down.

Run services.msc - Scroll thru list of services. Double click on service.
