i want to know if mayve this is "just" my card..basicly when i have the fan at 40% i can hardly hear it, but when i put it at over 60 it gets really really loud, at 100% it was louder then all of the fans in my antec 1200 on high, i mean this fan at 100%is loud, 40% was the highest i could go without hearing it, but the temps are great, 27C at idle according to CCC.

anyone else fans loud for the 5850?

Fans dont like to be run at 100%, they get extremely loud, my 4850 is fairly quiet until it hits 80% then it gets extremely loud extremely quickly. If you leave it on auto it should be able to keep it nice and cool while staying reasonable quiet since your case has good airflow.

yea im keeping at 40%, temps are really good

Try it at 100 lol. It is by far and away the noisiest fan I have ever heard past 50-60%, at 100% it's just a joke.

The good thing is, it's extremely quiet at normal running speed. At least I can barely hear mine over the low hum of my case and cpu fans.

hha i dont need to put it at 100% but its funny when i do cause my mom complains about the noise :P
