i have a friend in another state who has mismatched memory modules on his gigabyte ge-k8n-sli MB. he is running 2 512 sticks and 2 256 sticks. i sent him 4 1 gig sticks, all matched and stressed tested as a gift. The problem is, when he installs it (2 or 4 gig), his systems gives him a sigle beep and although he checked all updates ( windows xp home service pack 3) and had the memory tested localy, it still will not even post to get into BIOS. he removed the CMOS battery and the bord has no jumpers to reset bios ( i have an identical board as a used item ) we can not get it to work. Any ideas?

Install the 2x512MB in the mobo, and install 1GB, try too boot. Do this with all the RAM
