Why does a netbook connect to wireless router but notebook not

Hello,
why does a netbook connect to wireless router but notebook not

a) does the notebook have wireless ?
b) is wireless turned on ?
c) have you applied network security type and passphrase to notebook's wireless adapter interface (or Windows Networking) ?

d) have you checked the router's settings ? (see the literature that came with the router) -- wireless mode (mixed mode will probably work) -- make sure Access List
is disabled.

c) Have you tried connecting with router's wireless security disabled ?
