260 gtx v/s 5770

i want to ask which is a better buy between nvidia 260gtx and ati 5770......i want to be futureproof.....but i think 260 is more powerful than 5770...

GTX 260 is more powerful than HD 5770.

Yeah the GTX 260 is more powerful atm...but if you're aiming for future proof around the $160 limit, the 5770 is DirectX11 and Eyefinity compliant and should increase in performance with more mature drivers.

Personally I'd rather be Cross Firing another 5770 a year from now than SLIing a second 260. (ok, i'd rather be cross firing 5870s but you get the picture.) It's a hard time to be in the market for a midrange GPU imo.

It depends on the games you play and the games you want to play.
If the card you have now isn't playing the games at a rate you like, look at the charts and compare the numbers.

The belief is that the gtx260 is more powerful, but can't play dx11 games. On the other hand, it doesn't make sense getting a less powerful card.

Buying a mid range card now is tough as there are alot to consider. Look at the charts and buy the card that plays your games the best.

GTX260 is roughly equal to an ATI 4870 1GB, which is slightly better than a 5770.

However, 5770 drivers will improve and supports DX11...and it's around the same price.

So go with 5770

but how is 5770 has driver support....and how is reference cooler........and will 5770 be struggling with aa....as it is department of nvidia.......i will play assassins creed 2,splinter cell and all games.....and may crossfire after a yr but it is still expensive than 260 gtx and 4870..
