There is any purpose for the LED that is in the audio line out connector.
I cannot find anything in the manual about it. The LED is always on.

Could it be the TOSLINK optical interface?

I think they normally do something like putting it in the centre of a
standard jack.

i can confirm that it definately is a toslink connector
