Please help me finish my $1200 i860 build to order

APPROXIMATE PURCHASE DATE: just waiting for the 5850 to become available from newegg BUDGET RANGE:about 1200

SYSTEM USAGE FROM MOST TO LEAST IMPORTANT:Gaming, multimedia, office work

PARTS NOT REQUIRED: no keyboard, mouse, speakers

PREFERRED WEBSITE(S) FOR PARTS: only newegg.com (bill me later) except for the processor which im buying at micro-center myself

PARTS PREFERENCES: HD radeon 5850

OVERCLOCKING: not a necessity SLI OR CROSSFIRE: Ability for both

MONITOR RESOLUTION:1920x1080

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: I decided to go with the 860 over the i920 because i highly doubt I will be upgrading to 6 cores, the 860 performs better, and i am pretty sure I can get really good performance using 2x 5850s anyways when i get another 5850 in like 2-3 months

Please help as the second newegg has radeon 5850 back in stock I want to order it right away before it sells out again, so I would like to know exactly what I'm getting the second I have a chance to order. Im using bill me later for everything but the processor which I am buying myself.

I just did a VERY similar build.

The only differences were:

I found a combo deal for the Mobo Ram (Asus P55D Evo or w/e and the G.Skill ram you have there) for $250

I got a PC Power and Cooling PSU from Zipzoomfly for $100. It was the 750W SILENCER (The red one)

I used the Cooler Master Storm Scout case, its a bit smaller and has less features, but its cheaper too, and I got that in a Combo with the CM Hyper 212+ cooler.

For the DVD drive, Look @ the SH-223L from Zipzoomfly. Its $38 but has a $15 MIR, so you can save a little there.

All said and done, my build came to about $1100.

I bought that exact same monitor last month, and I love it :D 

Good luck with your build. I was lucky enough to grab an XFX 5850 the first day they came out, i was refreshing all day like a monster (and would have been refreshing until today had I not gotten it, heh)

Awesome, how are you enjoying the pc? I would try other sites like zoomfly but it has to all be from newegg since I am using bill me later. And do you think the storm scout is better than the cm 690?

Well, I'm still waiting for the graphics card, but the Storm Scout is quite nice. I haven't finished my build yet, but I'm sure the graphics card will fit. There's enough room (I wouldn't say plenty of room, but theres enough).

The Scout has that sort of "Gamer look", but I think the CM 690 would work just as well. Don't take my word for it though, since I haven't actually seen the 690 like I have the scout.

Nice, cause my problem is that I want to CF 5850 at one point, so I am unsure if if that would fit in the CM 690, cause if not i would probably opt for the HAF 922/Antec900/Stormsniper

I did a VERY similar build as well... :) . Haha and I did go with the 690 because it was on sale w/ free shipping. From the video reviews I've seen and after previewing it in the store, it seemed like the best bang for buck from the cases I was shopping for. Unfortunately, I never got to view the Storm Scout, so take my info lightly.

Do you think given my items right now, I can crossfire 2 radeon 5850 in the CM 690??

Any opinions on things I should change or about how all these pieces fit together? I definitely am set on the monitor, the i860, and getting the hdradeon 5850. The ram/case/psu/and cooler are all up in the air as to whether i have the right combination.

Everything looks good to me based on my own research and opinions. Others may make some changes though. The 5850 will probably be back in stock in a week, so you have plenty of time to think about it :) . Keep checking though, sometimes they sneak a new one in there during the day without telling anyone.....

I will definitely be checking every chance I get because I am definitely ready to order and thanks for all the advice man :) 

Does anyone else have any input they would like to add, more information is always better :D
