I purchased all of the parts for my comp and now I am confused. The 860 i bought said it came with a free coolermaster heat sink which i got. I also purchased a 3rd party cooler master because I felt it would be better. Now in the box with my processor there is another fan looking device... Does this mean I now have 3 heat sinks and that the combo came with 2 heatsinks?

If anyone has aim/msn and is willing to message me to help me out id greatly appreciate it...

Yup, you now have spares, not very useful when it comes to heatsinks though. If you arent planning on overclocking you would have been fine with the stock ones, which 2 coolermaster ones did you get? You may be able to send one of them back.

Most processors come with heatsinks, they just decided to combo every heatsink on newegg with an i5 in hopes of selling more for some reason. It has a backplate so you will need to install it before installing the motherboard into the case, what part of the directions do you not understand?

Well I do not undestand this "mount" looking piece. It does and doesnt seem to fit at the same time. Its touching other pieces of the MOBO, other than the part where the cpu goes. Also I have 3 different directions (heatsink, 860, mobo) telling me different ways of doing it lol

Only follow the heatsinks instructions, the 860 and the mobo are both giving you instructions on how to install the stock heatsink which uses push pins not a backplate so the instructions are totally different. Ignore the CPU and mobo instructions about the heatsink.
