Cyclic Redundancy Error External Hard Drive

Forum Storage : Hard Drives Cyclic Redundancy Error External Hard Drive

I just got a new laptop, so I decided to convert my old hard drive into an external one. However, I cannot initialize the drive on my new laptop - it keeps telling me that there is a data error detected from a cyclic redundancy check. Now there is nothing wrong with the hard drive as far as I know. It worked perfectly in my old laptop, and I haven't done anything to it since I removed it, so it should be okay as far as I can tell. Any help?
