So here we go, I have a Antec 902 Running the Antech 850w Quattro power supply. Upon shutting the computer off completely, the blue led's and 120 mm fans as well as the 240 mm fans will not shut off. These fans are plugged directly into the power supply. The heatsink 2 92mm fans as well will not shut off (however this are plugged into the board), The only fan that shuts off is my 120 mm side fan on the panel that is plugged into one of the 3 pin controllers on the board. The board I am using is the p55 EVGA FTW board. I work at a Computer shop here where i live and we had this exact same build, however with a different power supply and it didn't suffer this problem whatsoever upon shutdown. When the computer is shut down the glowing "E" ont he board still continues to go as well as the LED's on the board indicating to you that it is receiving power. The only way to truly resolve this problem is actually by hitting the back switch on the power supply itself. Is there a feature on the PSU or in BIOS; even perhaps in Windows that will disable such a feature? Any suggestions or answers will be greatly appreciated.
I believe the default shutdown settings in Windows Vista is Standby. It just sounds like you need to set Windows to actually shut down if that's what you want. S1 sleep mode will continue to send power to devices plugged directly into the PSU.
I am currently using Windows 7, and the default for what the power button does is "Shut Down." Even a hard shut down (holding the power button down) results in the same out come. the P55 EVGA FTW Board has a LCD on it that displays temperature and various board errors as codes but when its "Shut Down" its disabled only the active LED's on the board that show functionality glow and as well as the throbbing red E on it. I can't find anything in BIOS to disable a feature such as this, I mailed antec to see if my power supply is being r-tarded.
