What is this and where did it come from

Now, it says Athlon X2 5000+, which to my knowledge were all socket AM2 and 90-65nm. But this one is AM2+ and 45nm somehow, and people are saying they're unlocking them to quads. Also, on ripping.org it is listed as a Denab X2..... If this is a Denab then why wouldnt they put it in their Athlon II line and why havent I heard about it. Im very confused as to what this thing is.

More about what from
  1. Could be a castrated denab. Not a good deal; for the same money, you can get a regor at 2.8 to 3.0 ghtz. Those are faster than a slower quasi-quad, even if you are able to unlock the extra cores, which isn't guaranteed.
