I currently am running a core 2 E8400 @ 3.6 a P35 gigabyte board with 4 gigs of Corsair xms ddr2 6400 ram and a WD 640 gig drive for my primary. I have a 8800gts 640 meg video card and a Corsair tx750 pw supply.
Or: should I stick with my current system and get a 120 gig SSD and perhaps a 5850 video card?
My reasons for wanting to upgrade are
1. my boards getting old and I want new features like E-sata, and more than 4 SATA ports.
2. I get slowdowns sometimes when doing a ton of stuff or video encoding.
I Play games primarily and encode video a bit and watch movies.
If I should just be happy with my current set up and save my self money Please by all means talk some sense into me!
Thanks in advance for your reply's.

Gaming: the E8400 OC'ed is gonna be tough to beat. Your better off upgrading the rest of the system if you really want to. The addition of an SSD + 5850 will make that system a monster
Vid Encoding: Quad core will be a great investment.

The main uses for my Computer are "Gaming, Some video encoding, and watching movies".
I have been struggling with the idea of buying a 120 gig ssd because of it's cost, and also "because My win 7 pro will be shipped to me on Oct 27 and ssd's work well with that OS"
So I'm leaning twords "brokdown711's suggestion for the SSD and 5850, as money better spent.
Unless any others can give other suggestions ? Thanks for the replies so far, keep them coming
