Hard time

Hello guys, how is everyone doing, i love this site but first time going to the forums for some help. I have a few concerns i have an old computer i built about 5 years ago and looking to make another one.

Here are the specs for the old comp:

amd athlon 3500
asus a8v
1.5gb of memory(corsair)
2x320gb harddrives(wd and seagate both sata 7200rpm)
ati radeon 9600
400w psw

Here is what i want on my next one, i am not trying to do gaming and alot of video editing. It seems very simple but i think it is just what i want.

Here are some specs i think i want, please tell me if i you have any changes or input you about my computer that i want to build.

core i7 920
motherboard is a problem for me right now, i want a nice board price not a problem but don't want to go over 300-350, i don't think about doing sli or crossfire at all. I would love to be able also to understand what would i need pci express x1, x4 or x8, if it is not something big i won't need it in my board.

please if you have any other better boards please may i see them

i want at least 6gigs of ram, i am looking a g.skill or mushkin but any input will be nice, i have my hard drives so i really do not need a new hdd unless there is substantial speed increase. I am already sold on buying the 5870, i really don't think there is anything better right now then that card. Power supply i do not think i need more than 600w psw.

any input on my new build will greatly be appreciated
