Hey, I'm new here and I'm desperately hoping you guys could help me. I am buying a new computer consisting of an i7-2600K and Asus Maximus extreme-z (4 intel SATA II, 2 intel SATA III, 2 Marvell SATA III). Anyways, I was wondering if it was possible to put 4 hdds in RAID 10 on the SATA II and also 2 SDD's on the intel SATA III in RAID 0 at the same time? If this is not possible, would buying a separate raid controller and running raid 10 on that and raid 0 on the onboard controller work? Thank you!

Yes, you can have multiple RAID arrays with your motherboard.

Connect the HDDs to the Grey SATA II ports.
There are 2 Red Intel SATA III ports & 2 Red Marvell SATA III ports. The Intel ports have better performance so connect your SSDs to them.

Yes you can.

Currently I have this setup at home.

- (2) x 2TB WD Black Drives in RAID 1
- (2) x 1TB WD Black Drives in RAID 1 (For Backup only)
