Hi, i have a GA-MA74GM-S2 motherboard. its REV 1.0 bios is F4 (latest) and im using DDR2 800

id like to buy an AMD PHENOM II X4 965 but it isnt on the cpu support list, would my computer be capable of running this CPU, or should i try another?

its just that it says it support the latest 45nm am3 cpus. so im not sure what to think

I'm gonna have to say no because that X4 965 is a 140W cpu. The new revision is 125W, but
that board doesn't look like it has a bios update to support it yet.
Not many boards support the 140W CPUs, which is why AMD kinda sucks.
They come out with new revisions of cpus every month and it's hard
for motherboard companies to keep up with all the bios updates for their boards.
