AMD Athlon II x4 620 ggabyte GA-MA785GMT-UD2H 785gchip ATI Radeon HD 5850 GSKill ddr3-1333 4gb RAM Western Digital 1Tb Caviar Black 7200rpm windows home premium 64bt coolermaster extreme power plus 600W ATX 12v Antec 900 SO had ncix build me a 1200 gaming rig, and in order to get the 5850(waiting on it), had to compromise on the processor to stay on budget. Will it slow me down? Can I overclock with stock cooling? Comments in general?

your format is horrid but yes your overclocking ability will be dampened by a stock cooler.

I would recommend going for a i5 set up honestly.

I'll see what I can work for ya =)

i5 beats the phenom II 965 in many benches therefor it also beats the 955, now with this info it wont be hard for you to draw a conclusion, so if the i5 its faster clock per clock than the AMD top of the line 965 it shoud also beat AMD Athlon II x4 620..simple logic =)

1920x1080...and im sorry for the format totally didn't know about the format rules, sorry..=( anyway, i knw it gets beaten up by top end processors, but what i wanna know is by how much, if its by 15 or 20 fps, then thats a lot..and someone told me that if ur mainly playing on 1920x1080, the cpu would be less of a factor, and a bottleneck for that matter, therefore limiting performance difference between processors, granted they have the sa gpu.

so yeah. since i already paid a deposit, i guess what i want is people to tell me if i messed up (i.e. could have gone a lot better for the same price, or totally wasted my money since i'm not gonna be able to play competitively with this set up), also could i do some overclocking to the processor at stock cooling, would i be able to notice a difference? some advice for future upgrades would also be nice and appreciated..thnks so much =P

Well you didn't "screw up" but your system isn't going to be best bang for its Buck. Intel is leading the way currently, not AMD unfortunately... well at least on one department =)

will i still be able to play most games on the highest settings? how about cpu overclocking, will that add considerable performance?
