I'm getting a HD 5850, this will be my first ATI card, and I've heard great things about both HIS and Sapphire. Are they both reference ATI HD 5850s? Which one should I get? Pairing with an i7 920, Asus P6T Deluxe V2, and 6GB Corsair Dominator 6GB DDR3.
^Agreed. Also, I would recommend against the Dominators (they're way overpriced), check out these instead:
OCZ Platinum 6GB (3 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Low Voltage Desktop

xfx has a life time warranty ... srry i mean a double life time warranty which means that if u sell da card the other person also gets a life time of worry free
Right now I'm sure everything is reference. HIS is famous for their coolers, but I doubt they have anything out right now other then reference. At this point I suggest getting the cheapest. They are all the same, so why pay more?
Lifetime warranties are nice, but who wants a new 5850 3 years from now? Would you want a 3yo card (x850?) to use today?

That's what I was thinking, that I'm probably going to keep the HD 5850, since it would be an economically better choice. I guess I'll get whichever's cheaper. The HIS isn't even on Newegg yet...although it does look cooler than the Sapphire.
Newegg had it already, they just took it up since sometimes, im guessing, supplying and stuff like that is backed up so they take it off. Since after all, the 5000s are quite new. Cause, i remembered them having the HIS 5850s and 5870s when they came out on newegg.
I think all the 5000s series are this price. And if you want those fans i think you can take off the covering off the video card as the great TJharlow once said. I think.
