trying to setup 3 monitors on it. I have 4 dvi outputs, but it will not do 3, only two. played with the drivers and everything.

try disabling crossfire in catalyst

i would if it gave me the option. I have the new catalyst, but no crossfire option now. damn ati and their buggy crap

I am having the same problem with my hd 4850 x2, I had 3 working briefly but the the bottom 2 outputs stopped responding.

I am using mine for two monitors side by side and LCD TV on wall, mainly desktop use but play games as well

get rid of new catalyst and reinstall old one
