Sounds crazy, but I am ordering a new board tonight-going to replace the board in my HP Media Center PC with an MSI board-going to go from an AMD Athlon X 2 6000 to a Phenom II 965 X4

My current board-HP Board-is an Asus a8m2n-la.

The board I am upgrading to is this one

This may sound like a crazy question. I believe my CURRENT board has an IDE connection.
The one optical drive is connected VIA IDE I believe. The other ones are SATA.
However, when I look up my CURRENT board on the net, I do not see anything about an IDE connection.
Am I going crazy? Am I not seeing the specs?

I just want to find out 100% if my current board has an IDE connection so I know I am buying the right board for my upgrade.

Any assistance would be appreciated..

Thanks for the reply. I only think it uses one of them.

I could not find it on the HP Web site

Here are the specs according to HP

I should be able to use the MSI board in the above link?
Just want to make sure before I plop down $413

Thank you for your assistance.

The IDEs are there. Look at the schematic (lower right: IDE1, IDE2).

What is the PSU in the HP, I do not see it on their site. Or are you replacing that too?

The power supply was replaced last year with a 550 Watt from BFG. That should be enough-my current CPU is 125 W and the thermal on the 965 BE is the same.-going to get the 125 W version. Thank you for your help:)

Yep, that is definitely more than enough. Form factors match, so the only other thing I can think of would be cooling. How is the case? At least one decent in and out flow?
