Recovering Corrupted Word Documents

Recovered some word documents from a broken hard drive. 90 percent of them I recovered fine. 10 percent I can't.

I have used all of these methods

And I have tried the program Office Recovery.

Either this comes up

except the "preview" is just garbage. Nothing that has to do with my document.

or this error comes up when I open the document

Word cannot start the converter mswrd632


This site helped me do the impossible before. So hopefully the same can happen again.

The last resort is to open up the file in Notepad and look for the plain text which you can then copy and past into a new Word document and then format it.
