my monitor takes a long time to display things and sometimes it remains black for houres. how can I solve this problem?
by the way, there is nothing wrong with my pc or video card (ati hd3850)

It's dieing, or it takes forever to warm up. Consider a new one.

I take it that you tested another monitor with it to be assured that the problem wasnt hardware related? (Other then the monitor being bad, of course.)
