Hitachi sata III not recognised

Hello,

I have a 2TB Hitachi SATA III drive (HDS5C3020ALA632) which is not recognised in the bios of my new Asus P8Z68-V PRO. I've connected it to both the Intel and Marvell connectors to no avail. I've also tried IDE and AHCI modes. The drive spins on power up. Any ideas?

Clear the cmos of your motherboard. Also try changing the data cable.

Tried cmos clear and different cables still nothing. My sata II drives work without problem also. Is there anything else other than a bad HDD?

You can wait for other replies but it look like you have a bad hdd.
