How the connection works? SAS female goes to the hard drive SAS male that's sure. Now the connector has two SATA connectors. Both goes to mother board or just any one of them attached to mother board?

As far as I know, you can use SATA with SAS but you can't use SAS with SATA. In other words, if your motherboard has SATA ports, you won't be able to use SAS devices, but if you have SAS ports on the board, you can connect SATA devices.
