Search by Title 'H' bug - anyone else?

this occurs when i do a search by title (all programs) for a show that
starts with an 'H'
Immediately after I enter the 'H', the focus switches to the program's
title.

it's the same behavior that would happen if i narrowed the search until
only one title were available. but this is obviously not the case as
there's are lots of shows that start with 'H'.

does anyone else experience this behavior?
i have software version 7.1b on a standalone tivo.

i just discovered it does the same thing when i search by title and enter
'MI' (not m, not ma,me,mo mu either); and there are plenty of shows that
start with MI
