My documents name change

I am running Windows XP. I received a computer from a friend. I changed the name in the registry to mine, I have my own user account but the main "my documents" name is still under my friend's name. How can I change this?

There is no main My Documents folder; each user has their own.

This is true. However, there must be a default. Because my friend's name is on that one. Every time I save a document it defaults the that name. Also my login in name is still the previous owner's name. But my friend's name is dominant on the computer. Is there a way to delete it?

Should have left the registry alone and made a new admin account (yours), logged into that account and deleted the old friends account (including all his settings when asked). One administrator can delete another.

Look for an old restore point and try again.
