Hi Everyone!

I'm trying to get my new internal bly-ray drive to function properly. It's a new LG BH12LS38. I have the drive connected with a sata2 cable to a sata2 connector. My powersupply is more than adequate at 520WATT. BIOS is newly flashed to 0701. Upon booting, I get an error: "ATAPI incompatible press F1 to continue". It says it's "auto-dectecting a USB mass storage device", which obviously it's not. I have just a USB keyboard connected. In the BIOS I have sata connectors set to AUTO.

Side Note: I have two SATA2 Western digital HDD. They function indepentently, they are not RAID. One is 160gig the other is 1TB which just stores games and stuff. Any ideas? MOBO = ASUS P6X58D-E

Failed: Swapped sata cables, swapped sata ports. Turned off and on Legacy USB from BIOS.

Tentative conclusion: It can't be the ODD. It's new, and my second one. It must be either something to do with the BIOS setup OR the latest Windows 7 version. I'm completely clueless. Help.

Thanks!

Issue resolved: I returned it for a full refund and got a SATA DVDROM.
