Hexa-Channel Memory

I own an x58 mobo with an i7.... I purchased 6gb (3 sticks * 2gb) of triple channel memory for it a while back, and since then, they have come out with 12gb of the same memory that comes with 6 sticks of 2gb ram. They call this hexa-channel memory....

I just purchased another 6 gigs of triple channel memory (I now own 12gb total), is this the same as buying the hexa-channel memory? Or do you have to buy the 6 * 2gb pack to take advantage of this technology?

that's a gimmick. there's no such thing as hexa channel ram, only triple and dual.
