A new computer- would fsx work smoothly??

How will fsx and other powerful games run with the following...(I'm building this system)

.Gigabyte MA785GT-UD3H
.Zotac Gefore GTS 250 512mb
.4 gig DDR3 Ram
.AMD Phenom II x4 955
.500gig HHD

Depends on monitor resolution.

Welcome to the forums!

FSX and other intensive games should run well enough at a lower resolutions.
If you are gaming at a higher resolution I would recommend upgrading the GPU though.
