PSU questions

First, let me clarify that this build will not be used for gaming.

I have a HEC Winpower 550 psu. It has 2 12V rails @ 28 and 20 amps and has 2 ATX12V 4 pin.
I’m upgrading my system to an I7 1366 platform.
Core I7 920

I already have these parts:
OCZ 6GB 1333Mhz

Will be using these from my old rig:
GeForce 8500GT
WDC 640GB black
Seagate 160GB
4 Cooler Master R4 120mm fans

Now for the questions:
The motherboard needs an 8 pin ATX12v connector. Is it the same as having 2 ATX12v 4 pin?
Can my PSU power my rig?

I will upgrade my PSU to a Corsair 650TX but I’m really tight on budget right now so it will be purchased on February. I might upgrade my video card to a 5670 or 5750 but only after I upgrade my PSU.

most psu's can combine the two 4pin into one 8 pin connector, yours should also. your psu should do fine till feb.

Thanks for the quick reply. So my PSU can handle an I7 system, thats a relief. Also do you recommend that I overclock my system with my current PSU?

If you are not a hardcore gamer, then overclocking is not necessary.
