Please help reformating dell computer

Hello, i deleted everything on my dell dimension computer including the part1 and parts2 on the reformat section.I created a new part but when it gets to the 100% it tells me that the disc might be damage or doesnt recognize the disc i guess. everything is plugin correctly. im using the operation disc system to reinstall winxp that came with the computer, i dont have a floopy disc. thanks

Did you check the disk to make sure it's not scratched or dirty?
Is it saying the CD may be damaged or the hard-drive? If it's saying the hard-drive, get a new one and install on that.

U can see if it detects the hard drive in your bios.
And if it is the hard drive U can try formating it again.
U can also try formating it with recovery console
With your CD in (CD first boot order in bios)
Press R at the setup screen
Press 1 and if it asks password , type in your password, or if you don't have one just press Enter.

At the C:\> type

format your_drive_letter:\ /Q

(ex: format C:\ /Q ) And press enter.

U can also use the file system you want by adding:

/FS:type_of_your_file_system

(ex: format your_drive_letter:\ /Q /FS:FAT32 ) And press enter.
