Hello,

Building a new computer and can't get my SSD recognized in the BIOS.

Motherboard: P8Z68-V with dual DDR3
Processor: Intel i7 4-core
SSD: OCZ Agility 3 SATA 3 120gb

The data and power cables are connected into the correct ports,I upgraded the firmware from 2.06 to 2.11, and everything else is recognized (HD, DVD) except the SSD. It simply doesn't appear in the BIOS even in AHCI mode.

Any suggestions? I'm about to lose it.

Remove the battery and clear the cmos of your motherboard.

When you begin the O/S install make sure the only drives connected are your Agility 3 and the drive you're using to install the O/S.

Just a reminder to connect the drive to one of the Grey Intel SATA 6Gb/s ports and be in AHCI mode.

Thanks Dereck47. Unfortunately that has all been tried.

I actually returned the SSD and got a new one, an Intel that plugged and worked on the first try. The price on the OCZ may have been good but apparently they have a bad rating in terms of off-the-shelf reliability. Thanks for the tips though.

Cheers
