taskbar buttons missing title identification

Please help me. I have a taskbar button, which I can neither identify, nor open. When I open the Taskbar and Start Menu properties window, I find <no title> next to the taskbar button. I have also, right clicked the taskbar button and nothing happens. The image of the button appears to be a pale gray square, with a slashed red circle. Have I inadvertently disabled this button, and perhaps that is why it will not open? If I could just identify the button, I could locate its folder.

Have you installed /uninstalled anything recently which may have left icon ?

If this just occured, a windows restore to prior date might solve it.
