Last response: in Windows XP

Hello, when i go into task manager under the "performance" tag my CPU has two graphs like a dual core, they also show different readings. Is this normal? In the "View" menu in "CPU History" the "One graph per CPU" option is selected. My CPU is a Pentium 4 2.8Ghz. I was wondering if its not normal does it affect my computers performance in anyway? Thanks, Nick

Hello and welcome to Tom's Hardware Forums.

Go from Start to Run and into the Open box, type msconfig then hit Enter. Click the BOOT.INI tab and then the Advanced button. If there's a tick in the /NUMPROC= box, remove it, click Apply and OK your way out.

Restart and tick the "Don't show this message again" box and hit Enter. That should remove the anomaly.

If it's a single core CPU with hyperthreading, it will show up as two cores under task manager.
