Does anyone know where to get one? Know when they will become available? Know what the bleep is going on? :)

Thanks!

The 5850 is a really popular card and ATI can't keep up due to high demand a possible setbacks in its production. I suggest you to keep an eye on the most popular retailers in your country for 5850 offers. Everywhere the card sells as soon as it hits the shelves so you have to be quick :D

newegg had some available yesterday...but it was $30 more than what I paid for 2 weeks ago. It could be the brand though. I got a Sapphire for $259...yesterday XFX was sold for $289.

5850s were available briefly yesterday on Newegg.
And yes Egg seems to be charging more for XFX.
Possibly due to its popularity and the double lifetime warranty.

Lol, on amazon, it said available in 2-4 weeks, so it was in stock...and i bought one. I got a notification that i would receive it a month earlier than before, and then when i checked on the website, it was sold out. Its amazing how fast they go O_o

Yeah I noticed they bumped the price up too, for shame. I at least want ATi getting the extra money and not retailers. :/

@XD_dued: so, when Amazon says they'll ship in 2-4 weeks, how soon do they generally ship?

dude, walked into frys today to see if they were gonna get them and found the last one sitting on the shelf. gave me a chill, big empty spot where the rest were and the last one sitting there. i'm very stoked.$279 usd though but i didn't care. thats what mastercard is for.

AMD released the 5850s too cheap. Considering how few of them they have it would have been smart to charge a bit more for them. It's not like nVidias pressuring the prices of the 5800 series right now after all :D. The yields over at TSMC haven't improved as fast as AMD would like and thats why they don't have enough cards.

That card has the highest demand of any card on the planet right now. What do you think?

diamong 5850s are available all over the place. Amazon is selling them too, and if i'm not mistaken, so is newegg. I even made a thread about this earlier because Diamond doesn't exactly have the best reputation with customer service or product quality:
