I have bought a Gigabyte MA770T-UD3P mobo and a Sapphire HD4870 1GB DDR5 graphic card.
when starting pc, my card doesn't boot up. first I thought the problem is with the card but card was OK when I tested it on an old LGA965 mobo.
So, is that mobo incompatible with my graphcard? what should I do?
Does upgrading to a 780 or 785 mobo can solve my problem? thx

You have something - other than a video card incompatibility - wrong with your system.

What are your full system specifications?

jsc is right, something else is wrong with your system. Your motherboard supports all PCI-E GPU's.

I have tried a HD5770 on this mobo and it booted well.
So I don't think the problem is with the other connections.

Then the problem could be your power supply. You still haven't provided the FULL system specs. The 4870 uses considerably more power than the 5770. If you have a no-name PSU it is likely not able to provide enough clean power to run the 4870.
