Simple tech 250G external drive

Hello,
I have a blinking blue light and cannot get the computer to recognize the drive. It has before. I have tried it on other computers and I get the same thing. Has my drive bombed? if so what to do?

I suggest you remove the drive from its enclosure and connect it directly to a SATA/PATA port on your computer's motherboard. This will eliminate the USB enclosure as a potential culprit.

Be aware that some external products use hardware encryption, even if you have not set a password. If yours is one of these, then your OS may see the drive, but it will not be able to access your data.
