OVERCLOCKING: Maybe in the future SLI OR CROSSFIRE: No, If I was to would you recommend a bigger PSU?

MONITOR RESOLUTION: 1920x1080, 1920x1200, I havent looked into this too much,<---- Are these resolutions standard for a 23 inch moniter?

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: So I have been doing some research into all this and I have decided to go with the Core i5 and a mid range Gigabyte motherboard. I have been a little confused with what Ram to get, ive heard that P55 works best with 4GB and I know that I need DDR3 running at 1.65v or less.

Would you recommend any of these CPU coolers?

I have a Seagate external hardrive already, would you recommend sticking with Seagate or are there better brands for Hard Drives? I would want at least 500GB.

The graphics card I have been looking at is the 1 GB Radeon 4870, I think it should give me more than enough power to run a few new games. One question I have is if I was to run 2 moniters in the future would I need to get two cards and run them in crossfire?

A 620W PSU won't be enough for two 4870's on crossfire, so you might as well get a cheaper motherboard and a better graphics card.

Build's recommendations seem sound, the Ripjaws are getting recommendations all over the forums, and for good reason. 24" standard res is 1920x1200 I imagine a 23" would be 1920x1080. Just check the resolutions before you purchase your monitor.

The 620 HX has enough 12V amperage (50amps!) to run two 4870 graphics cards, but only has two of the 4 necessary PCIE power cables. It looks like the ATI 5770s that should start shipping in two weeks only require one power cable and would give you the graphics power you need in addition to DX11 compatibility. You could crossfire cards that only need one power cable with that PSU easily.

In the US XFX has a lifetime warranty (if you register within 30 days of purchase). You should check their warranties where you live.

The samsung F3 is the best performing inexpensive drive. Seagate 7200.12 is OK, dont get a 7200.11 or earlier as there were firmware problems.

Of those coolers the Coolermaster Hyper 212 and Noctua NH12 (not the SE) are both good choices. The prolimtech Megahalems is probably the best but its also the most expensive and you would need to buy a fan for it in addition to that steep price.

I have just been looking at the ATI 5750 and 5770s and I think I may just hold off on deciding on a graphics card until these come out, I think it will be worth the wait.

Thanks for the recommendations on the CPU cooler, RAM and HDD, I will look into these now
