Hi,I have an AMD Athlon X2 5200+ processor overclocked 7% using BIOS Overclock profile.I am using the stock AMD cooler and I have one air intake and an exhaust in my chassis.During heavy CPU loads like video conversion,my CPU temperature is rising above 80C.I rolled back to stock frequency and loaded BIOS defaults, still the problem exists.I have an ASUS M2N68-AM Motherboard..Plz help...

Chances are that your warranty would be useless, the 5200+ is discontinued and is all out 45nm/40nm/55nm. No, applying thermal paste doesn't void any warranty other than the thermal pastes warranty if you got a bad paste manufacture. For athlon x2 5200, try to not go over 65C and you'll be fine.
Edit: make sure the heatsink if properly attached, If you couldn't take it off without touching clips, your fine. Also make sure the clips are all the way down

My heatsink is properly fixed,i couldn't take it off without touching the clips. But the thermal paste is unevenly spread.Could this be the cause for high temperatures?
