Hi guys this is my first gaming rig. I am scared to death that I build the wrong thing...
Can you guys critique my build?

The video card and mobo support that monitor.

Any reason you picked the GeForce 9800GT over the Radeon HD 4850? SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 4850 512MB $95 plus $10 rebate or MSI OC Radeon HD 4850 1GB $115 plus $15 rebate

I think that PSU with it's 2 80mm cooling fans isn't such a great bargain compared with a PSU like this BFG Tech GS-550 550W with it's single 140mm fan.

If you don't mind playing the rebate game you can get a really good deal on the OCZ Fatal1ty OCZ550FTY 550W PSU $45 after rebate and promo code discount 10% off w/ promo code cz10, ends 10/18

Everything else looks good.
Be sure to let us know how everything goes.

roswell aint too good on making power supplies this is much better http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6817341016

that hard drive is a low power low speed one http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6822152181 this is one of the fastest out right now

as he said a 4850/4770 will out perform a 9800gt by some margin

Agreed man, I've got an nvidia card myself, a 9600gt I'd bought last year at a good price, but for current pricing, 4850 is a little better card.

You want to replace the ASUS VW224 1680x1050 monitor with a 1980x1080 monitor?
That ASUS VW224 will playback vidoes just fine @ 780P
