Hey guys, im building a new rig but need advice on a good motherboard. I am going with either the core i5 or core 2 quad cpu (leaning towards core i5) and will be using it for gaming, work, playin some tunes etc. I probably wont be overclocking and i would be prefer a board that uses crossfire/sli. I would also prefer ddr3 just for future proofing purposes. Any input is greatly appreciated.

The leading contenders would be the ASUS P7P55D PRO or GIGABYTE GA-P55-UD4P or ASRock P55 Extreme
Also in the mix are GIGABYTE GA-P55M-UD4 (it's a micro-ATX sized board) and Foxconn Inferno Katana or BIOSTAR T5 XE CFX.

Any of the first 3 will be an exellent choice.
ASRock P55 Extreme

I second the Gigabyte P55-UD4P

good job leaning towards i5..

dont ever get below i5 750 at this point because i5 750> all processors before and all amd processors.

i agree with others the Gigabyte P55-UD4P is a good one for the price.

I would keep the 750W for future upgrades and possible SLI in the future. Will save you...
