.Hi,

anyway I did some testing, I looked into RivaTuner and found out that my max temp limit is 92? so I did some testing, I went into a game, put windows mode on and seen my "Diode" hit 92..and after afew seconds, the game froze.

this was 30 seconds after the game frozed, I was unable to take a screen shot because of obvious reasons..so the temperature drops really fast..

I though 8800GTX would be like 150c~ max stress hold, because it's suppose to run hot, I guess not.. so anyway Im RMAing the card back to get a exchange, because Im not gonna deal with overheating..and I'll get a newer card since this card isn't made anymore by PNY.

IF Im wrong about the max temps please tell me :3 ...than it might not be a overheating issue but Im 95% positive it is. (3 years almost running this card, without thermal/padding changes)

System Info:

System Manufacturer/Model Number ASUS / Custom build.
OS Windows 7 64bit Ultimate
CPU AMD Phenom X2 920 2.60Ghz (3.08Ghz OC)
Motherboard ASUS M3N72-D
Memory 8GB DDR2 800Mhz
Graphics Card 8800GTX OC (by default)
Cooling: Coolmaster(new for cpu), everything else is stock.

EDIT: I've also posted this another forum, and heres what happens in full screen on a game..after 10-15 minutes

I own a 88000GTZ and i've never seen it going over 90 degrees Celcius. RMA would be your best bet if it is possible. If not just increse airflow in your case. Even if Overclocked it shouldnt be hard to keep it below 90

What have you got or done to confirm this thought of what the the thermal threshold is?
