HD 5870 fit onto a Asus P7P55D Evo?

Anyway I'll be building my first comp here in a couple weeks and I have most of the components selected. I just have 1 question about the Asus P7P55D Evo Board.

It seems like the DIM slots are extremely close to that first PCI-e (x16) slot. I was curious if the HD 5870 would still fit in this setup. I mean, that card is a beast of a beast. I knew it was big, but until i saw someone on youtube holding it I had no idea just HOW big it really was! Without examining the spec sheets on the card, I cannot see if it will fit without running into problems covering those DIM slots. Any thoughts?

Sorry if this is a scrub question, I'm kind of a newblet..

Hi newcomer and welcome to the Tom's hardware.

You can install it without problems, you are right, the 1st PCI-E slot isvery near to the RAM slots, but the big part of your GPU goes to the battery of the mobo, so, you don't have to worry about this.
