I just got done placing and ordering the parts for my new gaming pc, heres what I came up with.

PSU - PSU CORSAIR|CMPSU-850HX 850W RT
HD - Western Digital Caviar Black WD6401AALS 640GB
Vid Cards - GIGABYTE GV-N275UD-896I GeForce GTX 275 896MB 448-bit GDDR3 (Two of these for SLI)
Memory -G.SKILL Trident 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 2000 (PC3 16000)
CPU - Intel Core i5-750 Lynnfield 2.66GHz
MB - MSI P55-GD65 LGA 1156 Intel P55 ATX
Case - NZXT TEMPEST Crafted Series CS-NT-TEM-B Black Steel

The whole rig came out to around $1400 usd from newegg. But the kicker is after I ordered the whole setup I found out that the Motherboard only goes 8x 8x for sli.

Question is this, did I screw the pooch by not spending another $100 for a motherboard that does 16x 16x in sli or will it not make that much of a difference?

Guys thanks a bunch for the input.

They Lynnfield processors have the PCIe controller on the die, and it only has 16x lanes. So the proc can only support 8x 8x SLI or XFire.

I have an MSI P55 GD65.
For the features it has, it is at a very good price.

If you get it, remember to put the ram into the black slots not the blue.
Most motherboards are the opposite, so that's why people are winging that their boards are 'DOA' (Read the manual).
