Hi,

I am currently trying to build my own pc during this Newegg boxing day sale and was wondering about some opinions on my choice of products.

CORSAIR XMS3 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3

or if I should upgrade to a AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition Deneb 3.2GHz ----for 70 dollars.

or go with a combo like these:

Also, what are the MOBOs any of you would recommend for these two proccesors?

I'm trying to make this machine as inexpensive as possible also and also wanted to know if upgrading to quad would make that big of a different now and in the future.

Your help is much appreciated,

Thanks.

Also if you could let me know about the PSU and RAM, I know DDR3 isn't all that necessary and I will also be running Windows XP 32 bit but I couldn't find any cheaper deals. But I wanted to know what kind of PSU minimum power I would need, I want to try and get a cheaper one.

What will you be using the PC for? Do you have any specific budget in mind?

Also, the PSU isn't something that you want to cut corners on. Cheap PSU's have low efficiency, low reliability, and won't last you as long.

What would be your preferred budget? Also, knowing which games and your monitor resolution really would help decide whether or not you need a mid-to-high range GPU.

Well I would prefer anywhere in the range of 500-700$ with that build it came out to about $575 with tax and delivery and I haven't yet to buy my monitor. Resolution would probably be 1024x768 or higher perhaps.

Games would probably be Counter-Strike: Source, WoW and L4D2

But again I was meaning to build this for future games: Starcraft 2, Diablo 3 and Final Fantasy 14 as well as being able to handle the new Half-Life engine being developped

Your videocard 4670 is very weak compared to the rest o fyour components. For $10 more, get the 4770! It's about 1 and half times faster than the 4670.

OK other than that though is it a good build and everything compatible?
