okay, I've tried to talk myself into the phenom 955, then the i5, but I just can't do it. i'm that guy that needs the i7. I know it's not the best for my money, but I don't care. That being said.. I don't need a monitor or a graphics card. if it matters, my screen res is 1680x1050 and i'm waiting off on a dx11 card around january. i will not be crossfiring cards, just one, pretty sure i won't change my mind.

i want a mother board that's easy to overclock, ive never done it, but i would like to get the i7 up to 3.2-3.4ish. if i read correctly the evga has a program that does it for you? also would like to have a mobo that auto detects ram at 1600 if possible as ive never gone in and changed settings in the bios.
can anyone recommend a good heatsink and fan that matches up the cpu and mobo combo
again, shooting for around $1100. $1000 would be better.

i suggest you get i5 750 instead..cuz you are only using one graphics card...
and i5 750 performance is around the same, better in some cases

i heard some of the mobos go bad (my luck it'll be mine.) with those and i'd rather have something easily upgradable for down the road... i just want to know what mobo i should get for the i7.

you missed my post? edit your post. its lacking a lot of info. so i cant suggest a mobo for you when theres a lot of questions needed to be answered.
also you mentioned overclocking, before you do that read some guides..

i don't need a gpu right now i really just want to know what mobo and ram to get....
i edited post above. ram+mobo
also you dont need a graphics card beyond 5770 because your at 1680x1050
in the end i MUST suggest you go with a i5 750 build instead because your needs dont need i7 920
